facial hemiatrophy
a condition of unknown etiology, characterized by progressive atrophy of the tissues of one side of the face, frequently with pigmentation disorders and alopecia, jacksonian epilepsy, and trigeminal neuralgia. Sometimes it spreads to involve both sides of the face or the ipsilateral trunk, viscera, or limbs. Called also hemifacial atrophy, Romberg disease, facial trophoneurosis, and Parry-Romberg syndrome.
