contact granuloma
a benign lesion on the posterior part of a vocal fold, consisting of a pale to red mass on the medial aspect of the vocal process of the arytenoid cartilage; the cause may be voice overuse, irritation from a gastric or esophageal tube, or gastroesophageal reflux. Called also contact ulcer.
