atrophic senile gingivitis
inflammation of the gingiva and oral mucosa in menopausal and postmenopausal women, characterized microscopically by atrophy of the germinal and prickle cell layers of the gingival epithelium and sometimes by areas of ulceration; considered to be caused by altered estrogen metabolism.
