Salmonella gastroenteritis
gastroenteritis caused by serovars of Salmonella enterica, which usually enter the body in contaminated food. Symptoms include inflammation of the mucosa, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and bloody diarrhea. A more virulent form can occur in immunocompromised patients, sometimes resulting in septicemia.
