Purkinje fibers

Purkinje fibers
modified cardiac fibers composed of Purkinje cells, occurring as an interlaced network in the subendocardial tissue and constituting the terminal ramifications of the conducting system of the heart. The term is sometimes used loosely to denote the entire system of conducting fibers. See also rami subendocardiales and systema conducens cordis.
