Haverhill fever

Haverhill fever
a febrile disease caused by Streptobacillus moniliformis, resulting from ingestion of food or water contaminated by rat excrement and clinically resembling the bacillary form of rat-bite fever but with more severe vomiting and a higher incidence of pharyngitis. Called also erythema arthriticum epidemicum and epidemic arthritic erythema.
