postactivation facilitation
posttetanic facilitation facilitation at the neuromuscular junction, consisting of a decreased decrementing response or increased amplitude of the M wave, when nerve stimulation is repeated a few seconds after a strong voluntary contraction or after tetanus has occurred. See also postactivation depression and postactivation exhaustion.
