desmopressin acetate
des·mo·pres·sin ace·tate (des″mo-presґin) a potent synthetic analogue of vasopressin, used intranasally, orally, intramuscularly, or intravenously as an antidiuretic in the prophylaxis and treatment of central diabetes insipidus and in the treatment of temporary polyuria and polydipsia secondary to trauma to or surgery in the pituitary region, intranasally or orally in the treatment of primary nocturnal enuresis, and intravenously or intranasally to increase coagulation factor VIII activity before surgical procedures in patients with hemophilia A and von Willebrand disease.
