- (CDK) cy·clin-de·pen·dent ki·nase (CDK) (siґklin de-penґdənt kiґnās) [EC 2.7.11.22] any of a group of protein-serine/threonine kinases, active only when bound to a cyclin, that catalyze the phosphorylation of proteins determined by the associated cyclin in the regulation of the cell cycle.
