egg yolk agar
an agar medium containing peptone, phosphate buffer, sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate, glucose, and egg-yolk emulsion, used for the culture of Bacillus anthracis. When supplemented with hemin or yeast extract, it may be used for the culture of Clostridium and for the demonstration of lecithinase and lipase activity.
