paciniform corpuscles

paciniform corpuscles
rapidly adapting lamellar nerve endings that are more elongated and have fewer laminae than pacinian corpuscles; found in the vibrissae and epidermis of the nose, in joint capsules, in aponeuroses, and at myotendinous junctions associated with Golgi tendon organs. They respond to muscle stretch and light pressure. Called also paciniform receptors.
