Meissner corpuscle

Meissner corpuscle
a rapidly adapting encapsulated nerve ending found in the dermal ridges of glabrous skin, particularly of the digits, lips, nipples, and genitalia. It is specialized for tactile discrimination; called also tactile c. of Meissner.
