Chromista
Chro·mis·ta (kroґmis-tə) [Gr. chrōma color, by analogy with Protista] a eukaryotic taxon, classified by some authorities as a kingdom and by others as part of the Protista, consisting mainly of photosynthetic organisms that contain chlorophyll c. It comprises a wide variety of organisms, including diatoms, kelps, and a group of nonphotosynthetic organisms formerly classified among the fungi (the Oomycota, or water molds).
