amor·pho·syn·the·sis (a-mor″fo-sinґthə-sis) [a-1 + morpho- + synthesis] defective perception of somatic sensations from one side of the body, such as astereognosis or lack of position sense on one side. It may be accompanied by a generalized faulty awareness of spatial relationships and is often a sign of a parietal lobe lesion. Cf. asomatognosia.
