pseudofusion beat
an ineffective pacing stimulus delivered during the absolute refractory period following a spontaneous depolarization but before sufficient charge accumulates to prevent pacemaker discharge; on the electrocardiogram the pacemaker impulse spike is superimposed on the QRS complex of the spontaneous complex.
