Dцderlein bacillus

one of the gram-positive rods commonly found in vaginal secretions that may consist of mixtures of Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, L. cellobiosisus, L. fermentum, or Leuconostoc mesenteroides. Said by some to be identical with L. acidophilus.
