Wernicke area
Wernicke second motor speech area originally a term denoting a language center thought to be confined to the posterior part of the superior temporal gyrus adjacent to the transverse temporal gyri; the term now includes a wider zone that encompasses the supramarginal and angular gyri as well; called also Wernicke field or zone.
