2-aminoadipate transaminase
- 2-aminoadipate transaminase
- 2-ami·no·ad·i·pate trans·am·i·nase (ə-me″no-ə-dipґāt trans-amґĭ-nās) [EC 2.6.1.39] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of α-ketoglutarate to form glutamate. The reaction is a step in the degradation of lysine and hydroxylysine. Called also 2-aminoadipate aminotransferase.
