ami·no·acyl·trans·fer·ase (ə-me″no-a″səl-transґfər-ās) [EC 2.3.2] a sub-subclass of enzymes of the transferase class that catalyze the transfer of an aminoacyl group from one molecule to another with formation of an ester or an amide linkage.
