brom·hex·ine hy·dro·chlo·ride (brom-hekґsēn) an expectorant and mucolytic agent, administered orally and by inhalation in the treatment of respiratory disorders characterized by the production of excess or viscous mucus, and orally in the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca in Sjцgren syndrome.
