monounsaturated fatty acids
unsaturated fatty acids containing a single double bond; they occur predominantly as oleic acid, in peanut, olive, and canola oils. Monounsaturated fatty acids have been shown to reduce low-density lipoprotein levels and thus the blood cholesterol level.
