Aegyptianella
Ae·gyp·ti·a·nel·la (e-jip″she-ə-nelґə) [Egypt, where the organism was first described] a bacterial genus incertae sedis within the family Anaplasmataceae, parasitic in erythrocytes of wild and domestic birds and transmitted by ticks of the genus Argas. Organisms form inclusions that on Romanowsky staining appear as purple intracytoplasmic bodies. The type species is A. pulloґrum.
