Gan·ser syndrome 'gän-zər- or Gan·ser's syndrome -zər(z)- n a pattern of psychopathological behavior characterized by the giving of approximate answers (as 2 × 2 = about 5) and found in prisoners and in others who consciously or unconsciously seek to give misleading information regarding their mental state
