tricho·epi·the·li·o·ma (trik″o-ep″ĭ-the-le-oґmə) [tricho- + epithelioma] a benign adnexal tumor originating in the hair matrix, usually on the face; histologically there are strands of basal cells surrounded by fibrocellular stroma. There are two types, the multiple type and the solitary type. Some authorities consider this to be a subgroup of the trichoblastomas.
