fi·ber·scope (fiґbər-skōp) a flexible endoscope that uses bundles of fibers with special optical properties (see fiberoptics) for the transmission of light and the collection of images; it also contains channels for insufflation and suction and for the introduction of a variety of accessories for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Called also fiberoptic endoscope.
