11-de·hy·dro·cor·ti·cos·ter·one (de-hi″dro-kor″tĭ-kosґtər-ōn) an adrenocortical steroid made from, and convertible to, corticosterone; it is not directly active. Also produced synthetically, it is used like cortisone as a glucocorticoid and as an antiallergic agent.
