endolymphatic sac tumor: a tumor arising in the endolymphatic sac; these are histologically benign, but if they extend into the adjacent temporal bone they may cause symptoms such as hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo. Some are associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease and others are primary or idiopathic.
