tropical theileriasis
an infection in cattle similar to but milder than East Coast fever, caused by Theileria annulata, transmitted by Hyalomma spp.; it occurs in North Africa, Mediterranean coastal regions, and many parts of Asia, including Turkey, Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent. Called also Mediterranean Coast fever, and tropical piroplasmosis.
