nodular circumscribed lipomatosis
formation of multiple circumscribed or encapsulated lipomas in subcutaneous tissue. When these are distributed symmetrically around the neck, the condition is called multiple symmetric lipomatosis or Madelung disease. A variety in which the lipomas press against nerves and become painful is called adiposis dolorosa.
