perioral dermatitis

perioral dermatitis
a papular eruption on the face, of unknown etiology and seen most often in young women; papules and pustules develop slowly and progress to erythema and scaling. It is usually confined to the area about the mouth, but may also spread to involve the eyelids and forehead (periocular d.). See also periorificial d.
