clo·far·a·bine (klo-farґə-bēn) a purine nucleoside antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis and repair; used for treatment of children and adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who have had at least two previous regimens. Administered by intravenous injection.
